Important Deadlines for BankAtlantic Customers
The last day for customers to use the BankAtlantic branch in Aventura will be Oct. 12, 2012.
Starting Oct. 15, 2012 they will formally become BB&T account holders and must go to the BB&T branch at 19235 Biscayne Blvd.
But even before that date BankAtlantic customers will not be able use the following services:
- Sept. 6 – New enrollments ended for BankAtlantic Online Banking, bill payment, eStatements, FinanceWorks and Online Payroll.
- Sept. 26 – Customers will no longer have access to external bank transfers.
- Oct. 11 – After this date BankAtlantic Online Banking will not allow any payments to be scheduled or modified and become view-only. Also access to Mobile Web Banking, SMS Text Message Banking and the iPhone and Android applications will end.
- Oct. 15 – BankAtlantic Online Banking will now log onto BB&T online banking at BBT.com using the same BankAtlantic user ID, unless BB&T notifies you there was conflict. The password will be temporarily set to the last five digits of the Social Security number (SSN) or taxpayer identification number (TIN).
After the initial logon, former BankAtlantic customers will be asked to update their passwords, set up personal security questions, select statement delivery preferences, agree to receive electronic communications from BB&T Online Banking.
Changes in user ID and/or online passwords may be performed by clicking the Customer Service tab in online banking.
After that the usual banking functions such as transaction history, payees, scheduled payments and scheduled internal transfers will be done just like any other BB&T OnLine or BB&T Small Business OnLine client.
At this time customers using BB&T Alerts and BB&T Mobile Banking will have to sign up for the services as BB&T account holders.
